Kremlin announced today that he knew nothing of the Vatican’s peace initiative for Ukraine.

It is reminded that Pope Francis said on Sunday that the Vatican is involved in a cautious effort to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. and is also ready to assist in the repatriation of children from Ukraine who were taken to Russia from Ukrainian territories under Russian occupation.

“I believe that peace is always achieved by creating new channels, and not by standing still. My call is to always create relationships, new channels of friendship,” the pontiff said, arguing that at the request of Kyiv, the Holy See is making efforts to return to Russia the children taken by the Russians from Ukraine.

“The world interests everyone. I’m ready to do whatever it takes. The mission is currently underway but has not yet been made public. We’ll see,” the Pope said during his visit to Hungary.

Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov told reporters today that Moscow has no information about this initiative.
