Matthew Perry removes negative comment about Keanu Reeves from his book

Popular actor of the series “Friends”, Matthew Perry, promised to remove the “vicious” mention of Keanu Reeves from the next edition of his autobiography.

In his book “Friends, Lovers and the Big Scary Thing” The ‘Friends’ star twice wonders why Reeves is ‘still with us’ when ‘talented’ actors like River Phoenix have died.

“What I said was stupid. It was bad that I did it, ”Perry admitted, speaking at the Book Festival in Los Angeles. “I mentioned his name because I live on the same street. I publicly apologized to him,” he added. “All future editions of the book will not bear his name.”

He said that he personally did not make amends. “If I meet this guy, I will apologize. It was just stupid,” he added.

Perry’s memoir, published last year, describes his long struggle with drugs and alcohol.

In the book, he describes Phoenix, his 1988 co-star in A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon, as a genius who was “way ahead” of his time.

“River was a handsome man inside and out – too handsome for this world, as it turned out. It always seems like the really talented guys get lost (…) Why do original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die while Keanu Reeves is still alive?” Perry wrote.

Phoenix died in 1993 at the age of 23 from an overdose of cocaine and heroin. Hill Ledger died of a prescription drug overdose in 2008.

“I apologize. I should have used my name instead,” he told People magazine in October.
