
Ukraine said today that Russian forces have made some progress in heavy fighting for control of the town of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, but the situation is under control.
Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar made the announcement shortly before the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russian troops were currently fighting in the western part of Bakhmut, the last part of the city held by Ukrainian forces.
“The situation is tense, but under control,” Mallar wrote on Telegram.
The Russian Defense Ministry said today at a briefing that Russian troops are fighting in the western part of Bakhmut.
