French cyclists have set a new Guinness World Record for the longest GPS route a cycling team has drawn by drawing a T-Rex on a 1,025km route.
The T-Rex was created by pedaling six French cyclists. The team started and finished in the Allier region of central France and crossed several other counties. The task took them 43 hours and 47 minutes.
Although the route took place in November 2022, the record was confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records in March last year.
“Dinosaurs are proof that such a dominant species can quickly become extinct,” says one cyclist. “We are the main perpetrators of this environmental crisis, but also its main victims. So the future is in our hands and cycling is one of the best ways to contribute to change,” he tells French media.
He and his team call themselves triathletes, emphasizing the advantages of a bicycle over a car. They shared their dinosaur creation with the Strava fitness app and received thousands of likes from other members of the cycling community.
