The governor of Russia’s Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, accused the Ukrainian armed forces of a drone attack on a tractor in the area on Friday, Novaya Gazeta reports.

“A drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a tractor-loader that was working on fortifications,” the governor wrote on his Telegram channel. According to him, the drone damaged the construction equipment, its driver was not injured.

Authorities in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, which border Russia, began building large fortified lines in those areas late last fall, although it is unlikely they will ever become operational.

Most Western analysts consider these measures to be propaganda in order to scare the Russian population that the war started last year by Vladimir Putin could reach Russian territory.

In fact, officials in Kursk and Belgorod have been constantly accusing Ukrainians of attacks on civilians in their regions for the past six months, without providing any real evidence.

Mysterious “attacks” on the territory of Russia

Earlier on Friday, the governor of Bryansk, another region near the Ukrainian border, said a Ukrainian drone had crashed into a residential building in Klyntsy, a town of about 60,000 people.

According to him, the house was partially destroyed and no one survived.

The comments by the two officials came after a Russian attack plane accidentally crashed into the center of the Russian city of Belgorod near Ukraine on Thursday evening, causing an explosion and damaging buildings.

“During the flight of an Air Force Su-34 aircraft over the city of Belgorod, an emergency discharge of aviation ammunition occurred,” writes TASS with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Moscow.

Su-34 is a supersonic fighter-bomber.
