“At about 22:00, a flash of an object was observed in the sky of Kyiv,” Popko wrote on Telegram.
“According to preliminary information, this phenomenon occurred as a result of a NASA satellite falling to Earth,” he added.

However, a spokesman for the US space agency denied this assessment, telling AFP that the satellite in question “is still in orbit.”
NASA announced earlier this week that the 300-kilogram satellite will re-enter the atmosphere on Wednesday.
“However, that hasn’t happened yet… No other NASA satellite entered the atmosphere earlier today,” a NASA spokesman told AFP.
