
The Argentine Court of Appeal affirmed that Eight medical professionals to face trial for role they may have played in death football legend, Diego Maradona.
According to the prosecutor’s office, eight people are charged with “premeditated murder” and could be sentenced to between 8 and 25 years in prison if found guilty.
Specifically, following a unanimous decision, the San Isidro Board of Appeal confirmed on Tuesday that neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychiatrist Agustina Kosachov and six other medical professionals involved in Maradona’s treatment will stand trial.
A test date has not yet been set, but is expected to begin in 2024.
Carlos Fabian Blanco, one of the San Ysidro Court of Appeal judges, said prosecutors had provided enough evidence to try eight people.
