Russian doctors rescued a girl with a 25 cm knife sticking out of her head.
The victim was taken to the Second Clinic in Vladivostok, on the eastern outskirts of Russia on the Pacific coast, in relatively good condition, but with a knife hanging from her head, with which she pierced, fortunately without hitting a vital vessel.
“As it turned out, it was an accident. Surprisingly, the girl was conscious and could even speak,” RIA Novosti was told at the hospital.
The hospital spokesman explained that the blade entered the skull by 45 mm without touching any major blood vessels or vital parts of the brain.
“If the blade deviated literally a few centimeters in any direction, our patient could die on the spot or remain disabled,” said neurosurgeon Ivan Radkov.
The operation lasted less than an hour and ended successfully.
According to doctors, the girl feels well.
