The kid became one of the youngest intruders in the history of the White House, breaking through the metal fence on the north side of the presidential mansion.
“Today, a Secret Service unit located a ‘weird’ young visitor at the north fence of the White House who briefly entered the White House grounds. The White House security systems immediately activated Secret Service officers and the baby was handed over to his parents,” Secret Service communications chief Anthony Guglielmi told The Hill.
Eyewitnesses noticed the riot, and some saw the child being taken away by the Secret Service.
Access to the White House complex was restricted during the riots. President Biden was inside the White House when the boy breached the perimeter.
The White House fence is about 13 feet high and has recently nearly doubled in height. The kid is likely the first person to successfully break into White House property since then.
A similar incident occurred in 2014 when a toddler climbed over the White House fence shortly before then-President Barack Obama’s speech on Iraq.
