A Florida mother won $2 million in the lottery just days after giving all her savings to her daughter’s cancer treatment.
According to a Florida Lottery press release, Lakeland resident Geraldine Giblett won $2 million with a $10 scratch card.
Giblet said she bought her last lottery ticket at a local gas station. The gas station attendant thought at first that there were no lichens left, however, when I asked him to double-check, he found the last one.
As soon as the daughter found out that her mother had become a millionaire, she burst into tears.
She paid for her breast cancer treatment herself.
“The day before my mother bought this lottery ticket, I finally got out of the hospital after completing my last breast cancer treatment,” daughter Giblet said.
“My mother spent all her savings to take care of me while I was sick. I’m so happy for her.”
“The odds of winning a $2 million prize in the Bonus Cashword game are only 1 in 3,921,270,” the Florida Lottery website says.
