
US Central Command (CENTCOM), the unified command of the US military in charge of the Middle East, announced that its forces had struck and possibly killed a senior Islamic State leader early Monday morning.
According to the Central Command, the ISIS fighter was involved in “planning terrorist attacks in the Middle East and Europe.”
CENTCOM forces have announced that they have carried out a helicopter strike in northern Syria that “probably killed” a senior member of the Islamic State group. According to the same announcement, two militants were killed.
CENTCOM reported that neither American soldiers nor civilians were harmed in the attack.
