
British designer fashionable Mary Quaid, creator of the miniskirt, has died at the age of 93, her family said.
Quad, the central figure of the swinging sixties, was one of the most famous fashion designers of the 20th century with highly innovative designs.
Born in London in 1930, she opened her first Bazaar boutique in Chelsea in 1955, when the area was booming. The clothing and accessories store quickly became a meeting place for the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, Bridget Bardot, Audrey Hepburn.

Mary Quaid created mini dresses and mini skirts with simple lines and vibrant colors. But women also owe her shorts, shorts, plastic raincoats, waterproof mascara, makeup bags.
“My clothes stuck to teen fashion, pop music, espresso bars, jazz clubs,” she wrote in her first autobiography, Quant by Quant, published in 1965.
