The Minister of Defense of Ukraine stated today that leaks of secret Pentagon documents contain a mixture of true and false information about his country’s military, but downplay their negative impact.

“They contain a lot of information that is not true,” said Mr. Alexey Reznikov during a press conference with his Spanish counterpart in Madrid.

“Information that corresponds to reality has lost its meaning. Therefore, it is a mixture of truth and falsehood.”

Reznikov also said he believed the leaks were a deliberate attempt to show divisions among Kyiv’s allies.

“The winner from this, of course, Russia and his allies or supporters,” Reznikov said.

“The goal was to reduce the level of trust between our partners, especially United States and other countries, and for me it is absolutely clear and understandable.

US officials are scrambling to find who leaked the classified information as Ukrainian forces prepare for an expected counteroffensive to recapture Russian-held territory.

Reznikov dismissed as “incorrect” his suggestions in leaked Pentagon documents that his special forces NATO work on the territory of Ukraine.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said today that the “treasury” of documents must be a fake and a deliberate attempt to mislead Moscow. The Kremlin said it didn’t know, “like everyone else,” how authentic the documents were.

Some security experts and US officials say they suspect an American could be the leaker, but do not rule out pro-Russian actors.
