USA: Arnold Schwarzenegger took a shovel and filled the hole with cement

Famed actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted a video on Tuesday showing him and his aide using cement to repair a road in the Bretwood area.

“After the whole area had a problem with this huge pothole that ruined cars and bikes for several weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it,” Schwarzenegger, 75, signed the post.

He said he’d rather face the problem than complain about it. “I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here, he said characteristically.

Schwarzenegger fills the puddle with colleagues, and passers-by thank him for his efforts.

“You have to do it yourself – this is crazy – I’ve been waiting for this hole to be closed for three weeks,” the actor told the driver, who pulled over to praise him for his efforts.

A rep for the actor said residents of Brentwood have made repeated requests for repairs as winter storms left potholes and cracks on local roads.

Last week, Mayor Karen Bass announced a plan to address what she said was an unprecedented amount of damaged roads in the city. Since Dec. 30, Los Angeles has received 19,692 repair requests, and by April 6, crews have patched at least 17,549 potholes, officials said.
