Russia: Ukraine and the West want to provoke an armed uprising in the country

his head Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, today accused her Ukraine And Westerners that they are trying to provoke the Russians into sabotage and armed rebellion against the backdrop of an attack on Ukraine.

“Ukrainian special services and their bosses in the West launched an ideological and aggressive recruitment campaign aimed at our citizens, especially the younger generation,” Bortnikov said during a meeting of Russia’s Antiterrorist Committee.

According to him, this campaign is aimed at involving Russians “in sabotage, terrorist and extremist actions” in Russia.

Bortnikov stated that 118 “terrorist crimes” banned in Russia since February, “the perpetrators of which are young men and adolescents, including minors.”

The remarks echo statements made last week by President Vladimir Putin, who accused Western intelligence agencies of being involved in “terrorist” attacks in Russia.

Explosion in a Petersburg cafe

In early March, prominent Russian military blogger Maxim Fomin, known for his staunch support for Russian aggression in Ukraine, was killed in a bomb blast in a St. Petersburg cafe.

Many Russians have also recently been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for shooting at offices used to recruit soldiers.

Others were found guilty of publishing “false information” or “slandering the military” and sentenced to years in prison.

The Russian military has faced numerous acts of sabotage at military bases since the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022.
