Eighteen people are missing after a shipwreck that occurred in the central Mediterranean Sea, in the search and rescue zone of Malta, Italian media reported.
The ship Nadir, owned by a German NGO, rescued and brought twenty-two migrants from sub-Saharan Africa to the island of Lampedusa.
As they told the men and women who offered them food and the doctors who examined them, yesterday afternoon they boarded a seven-meter boat that sailed from the Tunisian city of Sfax.
The ship, made mostly of iron, capsized about halfway through and the German NGO Resqship brought the survivors ashore.
