Easter bunnies on ecstasy have been spotted at customs at Brussels airport.

In particular, Florence Angelici, a spokesman for the federal public finance service, told the Belgian news agency that MDMA (methyldioxymethamphetamine) products were found in three rabbits, which will be turned into ecstasy tablets.

“It was pure MDMA weighing 1.8 kilograms. The fake chocolate bunnies were found on Monday in a postal package sent from a fake address in Belgium to a private address in Australia,” the spokeswoman said, without specifying a value but stressing that they “will be destroyed.”

The discovery was made by Paul Melnier, one of the oldest customs officers, using a hand-held scanner capable of identifying substances by their chemical fingerprint.
