An Israeli army spokesman blamed Hamas for today’s rocket attacks from Lebanon. Spokesman Avishai Andrei also said that Israel held the Lebanese government responsible for the missiles fired from its territory.
Earlier today, an Israeli official said the Israeli military was still assessing the situation following the rocket attack on their territory from Lebanon, but was proceeding on the assumption that Palestinian groups were behind the attacks.
The Israeli military said in a statement that 34 rockets were fired from Lebanon at Israel this afternoon, of which 25 were intercepted by air defense systems and at least five fell on Israeli territory.
It is noted that the Hezbollah organization controls security in southern Lebanon, where there are several Palestinian refugee camps and armed groups.
