Sources told Corriere della Serra today that former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who has been admitted to Milan’s San Raffele hospital since Wednesday, has been diagnosed with leukemia.
According to Italian media, the pneumonia that was originally mentioned is a complication due to the weakening of his body.
However, Forza Italia’s spokesman in Parliament, Paolo Barelli, said that “a medical statement will be released today” and that “it doesn’t look like Silvio Berlusconi has leukemia yet.”
His partner, Marta Fasina, was the one who accompanied “Cavalier” to the hospital when he felt unwell.
The 86-year-old former prime minister and billionaire media mogul has struggled with a range of health issues in recent years and was released from the hospital just last week.
He underwent major heart surgery in 2016 and also faced prostate cancer in the past. Over the past two years, he has been repeatedly hospitalized after contracting Covid-19 in 2020.
