An armed attack took place on the office of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in Constantinople.
According to Canan Kaftanzioglu, head of the party in Istanbul, the attack took place around 5 am (local time) on the party’s office in the northern suburbs of the city (Seyrantepe), not far from the TEM highway.
According to the testimony of a police officer and a security officer who were in the building at that time, 6-7 shots were heard. Shell casings were found at the scene, the prosecutor’s office is investigating.
The governor of Istanbul said that, judging by the footage from the cameras, unidentified persons drove past the offices in a car and opened fire, and 2.9 mm shell casings were found at the scene of the attack.
Recall that just a week ago, the local offices of Meral Aksener’s “Good Party” in Istanbul’s Merter district were shelled.
Although one perpetrator was arrested, police ruled out an attack scenario and attributed the shooting to an accident: a security guard in the building opposite shot the thieves who entered the premises, and the bullets hit the first and third floors of Aksener’s party house.
