It seems that Ukrainian troops are using a new type of non-traditional “munitions”. In the video from the front, you can see how recently the Ukrainians began to throw “Molotov cocktails” from drones instead of the usual grenades.
The video shows an attack by Ukrainians with a Kornet ATGM captured from the Russians to destroy and disable an enemy tank.
After the tank was damaged, the Ukrainians sent a drone at the tank and fired “Molotov cocktails,” according to a post on the Ukraine Weapons Tracker, an account that tracks weapons used during the war in Ukraine.
The images show how the objects thrown from the drone appear to be filled with a flammable liquid, which ignites as soon as the “globe” detaches from the surface of the tank.
So far in the war, we’ve seen both sides use grenades and other types of improvised explosive devices on commercial drones to attack enemy positions from above.
