Former Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi was hospitalized in the morning in the intensive care unit of the San Raffaele hospital in Milan.
According to the newspaper Corriere della Sera, Berlusconi is being treated with mechanical support and will be treated with antibiotics for several days.
A medical announcement is not expected until Thursday.
The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reports that only family members visited Berlusconi.
His partner, Marta Fasina, accompanied him to the hospital when he felt unwell.
The 86-year-old former prime minister and billionaire media mogul has struggled with a range of health issues in recent years and was released from the hospital just last week.
He underwent major heart surgery in 2016 and also faced prostate cancer in the past. Over the past two years, he has been repeatedly hospitalized after contracting Covid-19 in 2020.
All five children of Silvio Berlusconi were hospitalized. Berlusconi, 86, is said to be in serious but stable health, receiving antibiotics to treat pneumonia.
“Silvio is a rock, his condition is stable. He will succeed this time too,” said his brother Paolo Berlusconi.
