Hours after he was indicted by a New York court, former Republican President Donald Trump denounced the “interference” of the judiciary in the 2024 presidential election, in which he dreams of “taking back” the White House.
“I never thought something like this was possible in America,” he said.
“The only crime I have ever committed is protecting our nation from those who seek to destroy it,” the real estate mogul told an audience of supporters at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida. Bragg, who pursued him.

Trump accused Bragg of trying to catch him “before he knows anything.” He said the judge in the case, Juan Mercan, “is the judge he hates.”
He also fired new shots on all pending legal cases against him, from his handling of classified documents moved to Mar-a-Lago when he left the White House in early 2021, the investigation into the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol, and the case on interference in elections in Georgia after the 2020 elections.
Trump expressed particular concern that special counsel Jack Smith, whom he has repeatedly called “crazy”, is investigating the documents case. He said the cases amounted to an attempt to derail his third bid for the presidency, calling it “massive election interference on an unprecedented scale.” However, he did not provide any evidence to support his claim that they took action to undermine his candidacy for the White House, according to Reuters.
In front of him in the Mar-a-Lago ballroom, several of Trump’s militant and staunch supporters gathered, including Republican MPs Marjorie Taylor Green and Matt Gage, longtime operative Roger Stone, pillow maker Mike Lindel, former U.S. ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell and Sons Trump Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump.
