France: pro-Russian hackers “hacked” the website of the National Assembly

Access to the website of the French National Assembly has been closed since Monday morning due to a cyber attack by the pro-Russian hacker group NoName057 in response to French support for Ukraine.

According to experts from the Thales group, anyone who tries to access the site sees a blank page marked “page under maintenance.” The site was subjected to an overload DDoS attack by pro-Russian hackers NoName057. According to Ivan Fontarensky, Thales CTO for Cybersecurity, this group claimed responsibility in a Telegram post.

NoName057 also reported an attack on the website of the French Senate, which, however, is currently functioning normally.

NoName057 is one of about 80 pro-Russian hacker groups that carry out attacks in pro-Ukrainian countries, mainly in Europe and North America. In France, one such attack took place last week when the websites of Paris airports and the civil aviation agency DGSI were taken down. According to Thales, another group of hackers claimed responsibility.

NoName was founded in March 2022 and launches simple DDoS attacks, blocking websites for a short period of time.
