Four people were killed in a two-vehicle collision on the A3 motorway near Emmerich, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
According to the German television channel N-TV, it is believed that this was a group of Dutch sightseers traveling in three Porsches.
“Initially, there was a separate accident that was likely due to heavy rain and speeding,” a police spokesman told Bild newspaper. The first Porsche Cayman with two passengers skidded on a slippery road due to rain, flew off the asphalt and fell into a ditch.
The occupants, however, a 42-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, were not hurt by the impact as they even got out of the damaged car.
The 39-year-old driver of the second Porsche that followed him, stop helping them. However, while the three were standing on the side of the road, they were hit by a third Porsche whose 56-year-old driver lost control, crashing into them and then crashing into a guardrail.
All four people were fatally injured. The only one who managed to survive with minor injuries was the passenger of the third Porsche 911.
All three luxury cars had Dutch license plates and at this stage of the investigation, the authorities believe they were Dutch citizens.
According to the German authorities, there is no indication that they participated in high-speed races.
