OUR Andrew Lloyd Webber confirmed on Saturday the death of his son Nicholas at the age of 43.
The popular British music composer and producer announced the news a week after revealing his son was being treated for stomach cancer.
“I am devastated to report that my beloved eldest son, Nick, passed away a few hours ago at Basingstoke Hospital. The whole family is together and we are all very sad,” Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote in a statement posted on social media.

On Thursday, the Oscar-winning composer skipped the Broadway premiere of his new musical “Bad Cinderella” to be near his son, who was fighting for his life. He was also absent from rehearsals for the play, which is now playing at the Imperial Theater after opening in London’s West End in 2021.
Nicholas Lloyd Webber, who followed in his father’s footsteps as a songwriter and producer, was diagnosed with stomach cancer over a year ago. “I am unfortunate enough to report that my eldest son Nick is seriously ill. We all pray that he survives this. He’s fighting the disease with a sense of humor but right now I need to be with him and my family,” Andrew Lodi Weber told Playbill magazine last weekend.
Nicholas was married to Polly Wiltshire and had four siblings.
