Director General of the International Organization Atomic Energy Rafael Grossi will not come Russia within a week, however, most likely, this will happen in the near future, said Mikhail Ulyanov, permanent representative of Moscow to international organizations in Vienna, according to the Russian state news agency RIA.
Last Saturday, Mr. Grossi announced that he intended to visit a nuclear power plant controlled by Russian troops in Zaporozhye Ukraine this week to assess the situation there.
Asked if Russia intends to invite Mr. Grossi to Moscow in the near future, Mr. Ulyanov said it was “quite realistic.”
“Not this week, but a little later, the visit of Rafael Grossi to Russia may indeed take place,” the Russian diplomat added, RIA reports.
The IAEA chief is pushing for a security zone around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the largest of its kind in Europe, with six reactors, which has been repeatedly targeted by warring parties since war broke out in Ukraine in February when the Russian army invaded it. 24, 2022.
