
At least 23 people were killed and dozens injured in tornadoes and severe storms that hit the state of Mississippi USAFriday night.
Four people went missing, and quarters were literally razed to the ground, roofs were blown off by hurricane winds, and hundreds of thousands of houses were left without electricity.

On Saturday morning, rescuers combed the 100-kilometer disaster zone in the Silver City area in the western part of the state.
The cities of Silver City and Rolling Fork suffered the most damage, with the latter being “completely destroyed” according to residents.
The tornado hit Rolling Fork at 8:00 pm (local time) with winds in excess of 80 kilometers per hour.
No electricity in areas in 3 states
Outside of Mississippi, strong phenomena were also noted in the states of Alabama and Tennessee. In total, more than 100,000 households were left without electricity in all three states.
Many people were trapped in their homes, roads were blocked by fallen trees and materials blown away by strong winds. In Morgan County, Alabama, materials brought by the storm cover an area of ββup to one mile.
π¨Per Amory, Mississippi fire scanner: “All north Amory is gone.” Multiple gas leaks and major damage are reported after the tornado. Rescuers have difficulty moving through the streets due to debris.
The forecast center reports that debris was lifted into the air to a height of at least 16,000 feet.

It remains unclear whether it was one tornado that caused major destruction, or many different ones, as there are at least 11 reports.
