US imposes sanctions on Lukashenka plane
The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has expanded sanctions lists against Belarusian companies and individuals. BelAZ, MAZ and CEC members are also under sanctions
The American blacklists also include the Belarus Automobile Plant (BelAZ) and the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), along with their leaders Sergei Nikifirovich and Valery Ivankovich. Both companies threatened employees “who participated in strikes and peaceful protests following the fraudulent presidential election in August 2020,” the report said.
In addition, restrictive measures were introduced against seven new members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus, including its leader Igor Karpenko.
