“Countries should not delegate authority to the WHO,” Musk tweeted in response to a video of Australian Senator Malcolm Roberts criticizing the agency.

“Countries do not cede sovereignty to WHO,” CEO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus tweeted in response.
“The pandemic agreement will not change that. The agreement will help countries better protect themselves from pandemics,” he added.
Countries do not cede sovereignty @WHO. #PandemicAccord it won’t change. The agreement will help countries better protect themselves from pandemics. This will help us better protect people, whether they live in rich or poor countries. https://t.co/kYYtyOrh0u

Ever since Covid-19 first appeared three years ago, the World Health Organization has been complaining about a campaign of disinformation related to the pandemic and its role in it.
From time to time, the UN agency has become a direct target of attacks, and some commentators have accused it of trying to guide governments’ health policy, especially after international negotiations began between member states on a new agreement to prevent and control future epidemics.
The WHO is made up of 194 Member States, which make important decisions about their health policies and budgets at an annual assembly.
