OUR North Korea launched a few today rockets Cruise off its east coast, the South Korean military said during the latest weapons tests conducted by Pyongyang, as South Korean and US forces conduct joint military exercises.
According to the same source, the missiles were launched around 10:15 am (local time, 03:15 am Greek time) from the North Korean province of South Hamgyong.
It was not immediately clear how many missiles were fired and what type they were.
The South Korean military is on high alert, and South Korean and U.S. intelligence agencies are analyzing the details of the missiles, the general staff of the South Korean military said.
Seoul: “We will complete” exercises with the US
“We will successfully graduate from Freedom Shield high schools as planned,” the team emphasized.
Allies are expected to graduate tomorrow, Thursday, from an 11-day high school called Freedom Shield.
Today’s launches come just three days after North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile into the sea off its east coast.
Pyongyang has cracked down on high schools run by South Korean and American troops, saying they are preparing to invade North Korea. South Korea and the US deny this, arguing that instead they should prepare to defend against North Korean aggression.
The South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that North Korean strategic cruise missiles may have been involved in today’s launches. The term “strategic” is commonly used to describe nuclear weapons.
