ISTANBUL – ANSWER. Electoral derby between Recep Tayyip Erdogan And Kemal Kilicdaroglu predicts the president of the sociological company Metropoll, Ozer Senjar and emphasizes that “the winner of the election will be determined by the one who best controls the polls and the results that come out of there.”
OUR Mr. Senjar in his “K” statements it says that “today, Erdogan’s percentage is 42%, and Kılıçdaroglu reaches 44.5%, one might even say 45%. The elections will go to the second round. Even if the Kurds have their own candidate, then we are definitely talking about the second round.”
Mr. Senjar emphasizes that the earthquake reduced the percentage of the ruling party, but not to the extent that the opposition expected. “In January, before the earthquake, its percentage AKP (Justice and Development Party) was at the level of 39%. Nationalist Action Party (NAP) about 7%-8% and Republican People’s Party (CHP) by 26%. Two months later, the percentage of SEP fell to 34%. That is, it decreased by 5 units. In essence, we have to say that the SEP only lost 5 points because there was an estimate for a bigger drop. CHP has no differentiation and remains at around 26%.
The Metropoll president emphasizes that according to current data, the AKP-MHP government alliance will have a majority in parliament.
Opposition presidential candidate K. Kılıçdaroğlu opened up to the Kurds and met HDP officials in parliament.
Mr. Senjar says that “the percentages are close. All at 48%-52%, 49%-51% or 50%-50%. What will determine the outcome of the election is the security of every ballot box. That is, whichever group manages to protect the ballot boxes, get an official copy of the document that will have a result. Whoever succeeds will win the elections.”
Meanwhile, opposition presidential candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu opened up to the Kurds and met with representatives of the pro-Kurdish HDP party in parliament.
“He who comes with elections, leaves with elections, this is the basic rule of democracy. But appointing governors is wrong, you are destroying democracy, pawning the voice of the people and not recognizing the will of the people. This is against democracy,” he said and stressed that issues such as the Kurdish issue can be resolved in the Turkish National Assembly.
HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan expressed her satisfaction with Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu’s political move and stated that “the purpose of the meeting was to show that we stand for the solution of the Kurdish issue in Parliament and for this reason we were welcomed here.”
