The Syrian Defense Ministry said the Israeli Air Force raided the Syrian Aleppo International Airport in the early morning, causing some “property damage” to the site.
Earlier, Syrian state television reported that strong explosions were heard in the Aleppo area.
This is the second airstrike on the airport this month and the third in the past six months. The previous raid took place in the early morning of 7 March.
According to the Syrian Defense Ministry, Israeli warplanes “launched several missiles” as they flew “over the Mediterranean Sea west of Latakia at 03:55.”
As a result of two previous raids, the facility was closed for several days.
Through this airport, the second largest in Syria, international humanitarian aid flows to Aleppo, which was hit hard by the devastating earthquake in the center of southern Turkey on February 6, which killed tens of thousands of people in both countries.
