
Iran is ready to expand cooperation with Russia in the energy sector, including the development of “peaceful” nuclear energy, Iranian Economy Minister Ehsan Khadduzi said on Tuesday in an interview with the Russian state news agency RIA.
“The prospect of cooperation in the field of “new energy” and renewable energy sources, as well as in the field of other types of energy, including peaceful nuclear energy, certainly arouses great interest and motivation to expand economic relations with Russia,” he said. Mr Haduzi.
Iran and Russia are working together to build an Iranian nuclear power plant in Bushehr.
Russia began delivering nuclear fuel to Bushehr in late 2007, which Washington and Moscow say saved Iran from having its own uranium enrichment program.
