OUR Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told his American counterpart Lloyd Austin on Wednesday that drone flights near Crimea is provocative and could lead to escalation, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“It was noted that the flights of American strategic killer drones off the coast of Crimea were of a provocative nature and created conditions for an escalation of the situation in the Black Sea zone,” the ministry said in a statement regarding Shoigu’s telephone conversation with Defense Minister Austin.
Russia, the statement said, “does not seek such developments, but will react in the future” as it sees fit.
