The North Korean military fired two ballistic missiles as part of the exercise, according to the official Pyongyang news agency (KCNA).
Two surface-to-surface ballistic missiles were launched from the South Yellow River, near the country’s western coast, and covered a distance of 611 kilometers before hitting the target, according to CTAC.
The launch of the two missiles took place during a joint military gymnasium between South Korean and American forces called “Freedom Shield 23”, the largest defense cooperation between Washington and Seoul in recent years.
