According to Reuters, a Russian Su-27 fighter allegedly shot down an American Reaper reconnaissance drone, and it went down.
“Our MQ-9 aircraft was performing normal operations in international airspace when it was intercepted and shot down by a Russian aircraft, causing it to crash,” Air Force Major General James Hecker said in a statement.
US President Joe Biden has already been briefed on the incident, according to White House Security Council spokesman John Kirby.
According to Kirby, the Russian fighter’s movements in this particular case were “dangerous”, “unprofessional” and “reckless”.
