
Meta, the tech giant of Facebook and Instagram, announced today that it plans to lay off 10,000 employees, about 13 percent of its workforce, in what founder Mark Zuckerberg called “the year of efficiency.”
Layoffs will begin in the recruiting department this week, followed by a restructuring of the technology and business units in April and May, Zuckerberg said in a memo posted on the company’s website.
