
Iran and Belarus agree to expand cooperation
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko signed a road map of cooperation until 2026 in Tehran. As reported on Monday, March 13, by the state news agency BelTA, the document implies cooperation between Minsk and Tehran in the political, economic, scientific and technical, consular, educational fields, as well as in the field of tourism, media, culture and art. .
During the talks, Raisi and Lukashenka announced their intention to strengthen ties in all areas. The Iranian head of state pointed out that Iran is ready to share with Belarus ways to develop the economy in the face of Western sanctions.
In 2022, the volume of business between the two countries was US$ 100 million, three times more than in the previous year. The volume of Belarusian exports to Iran exceeded $81 million, having increased sixfold. Belarus mainly supplies Iran with potash fertilizers, wood, synthetic yarns and imports food products.
