At least one person was injured in the Belgorod region in southern Russia, where air defense systems shot down four missiles early this morning, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
“So far, we have been informed that one person has been injured,” Mr. Gladkov said via the Telegram platform. “Rocket debris damage was also reported in two residences.”
The Russian official did not say who he thought had launched the missiles, but he has repeatedly condemned rocket and air strikes by the Ukrainian military on his region, which borders Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, over the past year.
Kyiv almost never publicly takes responsibility for attacks on Russian territory.
