With the release of the hostages and the arrest of the perpetrator, the hostage situation that has continued for the past few hours in a pharmacy in the center Karlsruhe.
According to Stuttgarter Nachrichten, there were two hostages, and for their release the criminal demanded a ransom of seven million euros.
Special police units arrived at the scene, the special negotiators were in constant contact with the offender, while the area was cordoned off for at least five hours. This particular pharmacy was also attacked a month and a half ago when an armed masked man broke into it to steal a liter of methadone.
According to police, during today’s incident no one outside the pharmacy was at risk. However, in the area behind the store, about six workers found shelter, who, apparently, were not noticed by the criminal.
