The head of the Russian mercenary group Wagner, embroiled in a power struggle with the Russian Defense Ministry, announced on Friday the opening of recruitment centers in dozens of Russian cities.
“Wagner PMC recruiting centers have been opened in 42 Russian cities,” Yevgeny Prigosy said in a statement, adding that “despite the colossal resistance of the Ukrainian armed forces, we will move forward.”
He also expressed concern about the lack of ammunition for both the Wagner team and the entire Russian army.
It is noted that the Wagner group has already sent tens of thousands of soldiers to Ukraine, some of them recruited directly from Russian prisons, and played an important role in the Russian invasion.
Wagner says she now controls all of eastern Bahamut.
On Wednesday, Wagner mercenaries claimed full control of the eastern part of Bahamut. Then the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky warned about the serious consequences of the total occupation of this city in the west of Donbass.
“Units of the private military company Wagner have taken control of the eastern part of Bakhmut,” Prigozhin said in an audio message on the Telegram messenger.
“Everything east of the Bakhmutka River is completely under the control of Wagner,” he added.
Reuters reported that it could not confirm the information and that Prigozhin had prematurely announced some of the successes of his company’s mercenaries in the past.
