Another case of negative publicity by Twitter owner Elon Musk: the richest man in the world quarreled with a dismissed employee of the digital platform, and then rushed to publicly apologize.
According to a BBC report, the controversy began when employee Holly Thorleifson tweeted to Musk: “The head of human resources cannot confirm whether I’m working or not.”
Mr Musk responded by asking, “What do you do?” After a series of questions and answers, Mr. Thorleifson said he received an email confirming his dismissal.
After the conversation, Mr Musk tweeted Tuesday calling Mr Thorleifson “the worst” before deleting him.
Apparently having changed his mind, Mr. Musk rushed back to the platform a few hours later to apologize, and seemed to suggest Thorleifson return to his seat.
“I would like to apologize to Khali for not understanding his situation. It was based on things that I was told were not true or, in some cases, true but didn’t make sense,” Mr Musk said vaguely in his apology post.
“He’s considering staying on Twitter,” he added.
