New information reviewed by US officials suggests a pro-Ukrainian group is responsible for attacks on the gas pipeline. Nord Streamsays the newspaper The newspaper “New York Times in today’s post.

There is no evidence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky or his closest associates were involved in the case, or that the perpetrators acted on orders from Ukrainian government officials, the newspaper added, citing US officials.

Reuters was unable to independently verify the report, and US officials were unavailable for comment. There is also no reaction from Kyiv and Moscow.

“There are no firm conclusions”

The US and NATO called the attacks on the pipelines “sabotage” last September. Russia blamed the West and asked the UN Security Council to launch an independent investigation. Neither party provided evidence.

According to the American newspaper, the information indicates that those who carried out the attacks are opposed to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The report, however, does not provide specific information about the members of the group who gave orders and paid for the operation, the newspaper writes.

“U.S. officials declined to disclose the type of information, how it was obtained, or any details about how compelling the evidence is. They said that there are no firm conclusions,” the newspaper concludes.
