
Belarus will develop new military doctrine
The Security Council of Belarus instructed the Ministry of Defense to develop a new military doctrine “in connection with the change in the military-strategic situation.” This decision was taken in the context of “the escalation of global geopolitical tensions”, in relation to which “measures within the framework of strategic deterrence are needed to protect independence, territorial integrity, sovereignty and the constitutional order from external and internal threats” . on Wednesday, March 8, on the official Internet legal portal.
The resolution envisages involving representatives of the scientific community and experts in the development of the concept, maintaining its public discussion on discussion platforms and ensuring that its main devices are widely publicized in the media. After that, he must submit a new military concept for approval to the All-Belarus People’s Assembly.
Belarus’ current military doctrine was approved in July 2016.
