Greek expats across Europe protest Tempe tragedy

Diaspora Greeks are joining the voices of protest movements in Greece in demanding justice over the deadly train crash in Tempe.

Expats in Sweden, Denmark and Germany are protesting and organizing commemorative events in memory of the victims.

“Our dead are their livelihood,” wrote members of the Greek community in Stockholm yesterday afternoon outside the Greek embassy in Sweden on black banners.

Greek students and workers took to the streets in Berlin on Sunday.

Members of the Berlin-Brandenburg Association of Greek Scholars today started a protest outside the Greek consulate, demanding a division of responsibilities.

“Spring has stopped in Tempi,” wrote expatriates in Denmark who protested outside the Greek embassy in Copenhagen yesterday afternoon.

Tomorrow in Munich, members of the Cultural Group of Greek Immigrants of Munich will demonstrate in front of the Consulate General. At the call of the Munich Greek Initiative Group, the expatriates gathered and laid flowers in memory of the dead passengers.
