Monday night the president Vladimir Zelenskyin his evening sermon, mentioned the soldier, saying that ” Ukraine promised to find Russian soldiers who killed an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war. We will find the killers.”

In his speech, Zelensky added that the “occupiers” killed “a warrior who bravely said to their faces: “Glory to Ukraine!”.

“I want us all to respond in unison to his words:”Glory to the Hero! Glory to the heroes! Glory to Ukraine!“”.



OUR Ukrainian Army announced that “the body of our soldier is in the temporarily occupied territories.”

Before the soldier’s name was released, his sister told the BBC: “My brother could definitely stand up to the Russians like that. He never concealed the truth in his life, and certainly would not do so in front of an enemy.”

The alleged killer or killers not on the video have not been identified.

International media based in Ukraine have not confirmed where or when the video was filmed. We know that he first appeared in social media on Monday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba tweeted that the video is “further proof that this war is genocide” and called for an “immediate investigation” by the International Criminal Court.

Commissioner for Human Rights of Ukraine, Dmitry Lubinetsaccused Russian troops of committing war crimes in violation of the Geneva Conventions on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

And the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine Andrey Kostin stated that a criminal case had already been initiated.

Ukraine has accused Russian troops of torture, rape and murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

In July last year, a video was published showing a captive Ukrainian soldier being castrated in the Donbass, in eastern Ukraine. Russian soldier filmed in the city Severodonetsk commit this heinous act and was identified as a member of a unit belonging to the Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov.

In November, Moscow accused the Ukrainian security forces that they executed a group of Russian prisoners. This was followed by a video from the front line in eastern Ukraine showing some soldiers surrendering in a fatal incident.
