
The government in Moscow has announced a tender to provide “grocery kits” as well as “tea and sweets kits” to the families of men mobilized to fight in Ukraine, according to documents published on the procurement website, The Moscow Times writes.
“Food kits” should include the following products:
- 300 grams of ham;
- 200 grams of salted trout;
- 200 grams of chocolate;
- 100 grams of black tea;
- 180 grams of hard cheese 45% fat;
- 95 grams of instant coffee.
Moscow authorities ordered 800 such parcels. Each “set” will cost 2,000 rubles (25 euros), money from the local budget.
“Tea-sweet sets” should include:
- 100 grams of black tea with thyme;
- 95 grams of instant coffee in a glass package;
- 380 grams of Honey cake;
- 250 grams of marshmallows in chocolate;
- 345 grams of cookies with various fillings.
Moscow authorities ordered 320 such “sets” worth 1,250 rubles (15.5 euros) each.
The city administration plans to allocate 2 million rubles (25 thousand euros) from the city budget for these “sets”.
Fur coats and meat mittens
At the beginning of February, the widows of those mobilized who fought in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic received twenty-one fur coats. They were allegedly handed over by businessman Oleksandr Boryak.
A video recording of women thanking donors for their care was published by associates of former Donetsk Defense Minister Ihor Girkin. However, one of the women later said that she and at least three other women had their fur coats taken immediately after the recording.
In Tuva, on the contrary, the family of a mobilized person who died at the front received a bag of pelmeni, i.e. dumplings with meat, a traditional Russian dish, the branch of the history of the National Museum of Tuva in the village of Aldan-Madyr, and later the record was deleted.
Special fund for assistance to veterans
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his speech before the Federal Assembly, called to “surround Ukrainian war veterans with care and respect.”
He suggested creating a special fund to help veterans of the war in Ukraine and families of fallen soldiers.
The fund should provide socio-medical and psychological assistance, as well as sanatorium-resort treatment to servicemen and their families.
