According to a statement from his side, MEP Mark Tarabella remains in custody.
“We have just learned that the judiciary has decided to keep Mark Tarabella in custody. We will continue to fight for the release of an innocent man from prison because, remember, Mark Tarabella is innocent, he has nothing to be ashamed of, and he never received money or gifts in exchange for his opinion, ”the statement says.
The same report points out that “the average length of so-called preventive detention in Belgium is a little over 3 months, but 3 months in prison for an innocent person is certainly much longer than for a guilty person. And the fact that this situation is based on self-serving accusations is difficult to accept, it is obvious.”
“Finally, in order to bring him closer to his family, despite his unfair imprisonment, we managed to get him transferred as soon as possible to a prison closer to his family. This is good news,” the message says.
