In Kolomna near Moscow, where local residents heard the sounds of an explosion on Thursday evening, a drone could have exploded, law enforcement sources told TASS.

The source reported that the explosion “happened in the air.” “It is very likely that it was a drone. But we cannot say for sure yet because the wreckage has not been found,” the source added.

Specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations examined the place of the probable explosion, but did not find anything.

Telegram channel Baza writes that the authorities have expanded the search to neighboring territories.

The publication claims that a video recording of the glow, which local residents took for the effects of the explosion, turned out to be “light coming from large greenhouses in the area”.

The Mash channel suggests that the sound that the residents of Kolomna mistook for the sound of an explosion “could have been the sound of the MiG going supersonic.”

This is not the first incident in Kolomna, a city located about 110 km from Moscow. Earlier this week, a drone crashed there, a few meters from a large gas plant.
